Francoise Morisseau was inspired when she went to Haiti after 10 years. She saw the condition of people living without food or shelter and children not attending schools. She felt like any of these people could have been her family members. She realized that compared to these poor people, her and her family are truly blessed in USA.

After she went back to USA, she shared the experience with her husband, Osner Morisseau, and they decided that it was their calling to start sponsoring children to attend school with their own personal money. After a few years, they started a school in Haiti. That is how RLIM was formed and registered in 2008 in Fort Myers, Florida.
